Description
Loki in action, from a deleted scene. This is where Loki dashes to Thor's aid just having eliminated a handful of Dark Elves, to save him from the 'monster' that had killed their mother - only to give his own life in return. The ultimate sacrifice. (Why they deleted so much is a mystery, no, it's sacrilege.)
The entire piece is a digital painting using a variety of different brushes I only rarely use, to make it all look more organic than usual, not so smooth, soft-focus or only partially textured. The background is referenced from several screenshots of the official digital download I thought more apt than the green CGI screen, with some added lightning striking 'something' in the distance to make it all look a bit more dramatic. Loki got a full-on special treatment with every bit of fabric & metal given extra textures, even the Dark Elf rifle, all with a more intense dark/light feel & sharpening in places to give it more contrast & detail. Hair was done in even more layers than before using different brushes & moderate sharpening to give it natural volume, shades & highlights.
