Loki - The Dark World XX

Description

I didn't do it for him.

Loki lies dying in Thor's arms, after sacrificing himself to save Foster & his brother. And yes, he did die as per script according to the director, he did not fake his death. Everything he said was in earnest & he died. He was not to return. Before the epic SDCC success essentially resurrected him - & spectacularly put him on Asgard's throne for good measure. Even if only so posing as Odin.

I always wanted to do this scene, as tragic as it is, but he still looked so beautiful there, almost serene, despite the mysterious grey death lines starting to cover his skin rapidly with deathly pallor setting in.

I referenced this from several screenshots from my Blu-ray & added a bit more windswept hair to his face not in the original scene, kept it black & volumised it otherwise, & gave Thor a tidier, fuller mane. Applying more textures again using different brushes/techniques, I sharpened up the armour to make it stand out, with brighter colours to offset his ghostly pale face & grey/black background of Svartalfheim's dead earth. I couldn't help but add shine/tears again, & gave him green-blue eyes & more defined lashes.
